In order to gradually reduce the fluorescent mercury content, reduce industry with mercury and mercury emissions in the process of production, improve the level of fluorescent lamp industry pollution prevention, promoting industrial transformation and upgrading of the green. The ministry, the ministry of science and technology, environmental protection department recently jointly issued the "China gradually reduce fluorescent mercury content roadmap".

According to the road map, by the end of 2013, strive for the elimination of compact fluorescent liquid mercury production process; Process by the end of 2014, by eliminating liquid mercury, mercury emissions in 2010 than in the process of production by around 50% by 2015, the average content of mercury than single fluorescent products declined about 80% in 2010, more than half of the fluorescent mercury content less than 1 mg.

It is understood that in 2011, fluorescent lamp production in our country about 7 billion only. Among them, the compact fluorescent lamps production about 4.7 billion, accounting for more than 80% of global output, export 2.8 billion only. Consume large amounts of mercury fluorescent lamp industry every year. Europe and the United States and other developed economies has been put forward to reduce fluorescent mercury content requirements. Mercury international convention negotiations put forward after the convention, countries will gradually reduce the use of mercury.

At present, our country have solid mercury production technology, high performance low mercury amalgam and other supporting materials have also been implemented localization, can effectively reduce the fluorescent mercury content, reduce the mercury emissions in the process of production and recovery.
